About the Role

We are seeking an engaging Grade 5 Maths Teacher to help students transition into more advanced primary mathematics. In this role, you will create interactive lessons covering fractions, decimals, basic algebra, and geometry. You will build students’ numerical confidence, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills to prepare them for middle school mathematics.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver clear, activity-based lessons in arithmetic, geometry, and word problems.
Assess student progress through regular quizzes, assignments, and practical math challenges.
Maintain a structured, positive classroom environment that builds math confidence.
Partner with parents and school leadership to track and support student academic growth.

Skills Required

Strong knowledge of Grade 5 mathematics concepts and primary teaching methods
Ability to break down complex mathematical concepts into easy, step-by-step logic
Effective classroom management and student engagement strategies
Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, colleagues, and parents
Proficiency in using interactive smartboards, digital math tools, and visual aids

Eligibility

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education (B.Ed.), or related discipline
Certification: Valid state teaching certification or accreditation
Experience: 1–3 years of experience teaching primary school mathematics
